[ET Net News Agency, 2 September 2026] The Hang Seng Index opened 48 points lower today at 25,280. It reached a high of 25,311, down 18 points, and a low of 25,008, down 320 points. The Hang Seng Index closed down 18 points,or less than 0.1%, at 25,311.

  Southbound funds recorded a net inflow of HK$4.09b for the full day, compared to a net inflow of HK$7.76b on the previous session. The top stocks by net Southbound buying were AIA(01299), ZJ INNOLIGHT(03308), TENCENT(00700), MINIMAX-W(00100) and Z.AI(02513) in that order. The top stocks by net selling were BABA-W(09988), HUA HONG GRACE(01347), SMIC(00981), CHINAGOLDINTL(02099) and ZIJIN MINING(02899) in that order.

  Mainboard turnover decreased by 9.2% to nearly HK$216.69b. Among this, Stock Connect turnover exceeded HK$82.7b, accounting for 38.2% of the total turnover.

  AIA rose 0.1% to HK$76, with a net Southbound buy of HK$966m. ZJ INNOLIGHT dropped 3.8% to HK$996, with a net Southbound buy of HK$452m. TENCENT dropped 0.7% to HK$438.2, with a net Southbound buy of HK$336m.

  BABA-W dropped 0.5% to HK$109.9, with a net Southbound sell of HK$765m. HUA HONG GRACE dropped 2.8% to HK$117.5, with a net Southbound sell of HK$404m. SMIC dropped 0.9% to HK$68.25, with a net Southbound sell of HK$262m.
