[ET Net News Agency, 7 January 2026] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$276.13 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$39.77 billion, or 14.4% of the
market's turnover. There were 816 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.49 billion and HK$3.32
billion, or 8.77% and 8.34% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 16.04% and 24.23% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$2.61 billion and HK$2.19
billion of short sales, accounting for 6.56% and 5.5% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 25.18% and 29.19% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$4.9, or 3.25%, to HK$145.9. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.22, or
0.82%, to HK$26.66. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.96, or 1.01% to HK$93.7. CSOP HS TECH declined by
HK$0.075, or 1.32%, to HK$5.625.
