HK$192.03 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$24.09 billion, or 12.55% of the
market's turnover. There were 783 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.52 billion and HK$2.27
billion, or 18.76% and 9.41% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 54.21% and 14.29% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and PING AN (02318) registered HK$813.94 million and HK$796.55 million
of short sales, accounting for 3.38% and 3.31% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 9.74% and 38.25% of respective stock's
turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed up HK$0.03, or 0.52%, to HK$5.77. BABA-W ended up HK$5.4, or 3.5%,
to HK$159.7. TENCENT rose HK$3, or 0.48% to HK$626. PING AN jumped HK$1.4, or 2.04%, to
HK$69.9.
