[ET Net News Agency, 16 January 2026] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$255.08 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$32.44 billion, or 12.72% of the
market's turnover. There were 804 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.6 billion and HK$2.49
billion, or 8% and 7.68% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 42.37% and 33.07% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$1.95 billion and HK$1.69 billion
of short sales, accounting for 6.02% and 5.2% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 14.77% and 26.43% of respective stock's
turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed down HK$0.005, or 0.09%, to HK$5.7. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$0.5, or
0.53%, to HK$94.52. BABA-W rose HK$1.6, or 0.97% to HK$166.2. TRACKER FUND declined by
HK$0.08, or 0.29%, to HK$27.04.
