[ET Net News Agency, 28 January 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$196.33 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$30.38 billion, or 15.47% of the
market's turnover. There were 778 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$6.6 billion and HK$3.71
billion, or 21.74% and 12.23% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 37.11% and 38.47% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$2.93 billion and HK$821.96 million
of short sales, accounting for 9.64% and 2.71% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 47.58% and 7.99% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.64, or 2.34%, to HK$27.96. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$2.34, or
2.47%, to HK$97.02. CSOP HS TECH rose HK$0.1, or 1.78% to HK$5.73. BABA-W jumped HK$2.8,
or 1.65%, to HK$172.7.
