The play Yinding Bridge premiered in 2015 and has since been performed over 240 times. The story revolves around Yu Wu (portrayed by Ni Dahong), the owner of a small eatery beside Beijing's Yinding Bridge. In his effort to protect his family legacy, becomes unexpectedly entangled in an absurd scam. Characters such as estate agents, antique dealers, and neighbors make their appearances, engaging in a clash of interests and human nature within this confined space. Each person plays the role they believe they should, yet driven by profit, ultimately reveals their true self. After the turmoil, life seems unchanged—the ripples stir beneath Yinding Bridge, and the smoke of daily hearths still rises and drifts away in an endless rhythm, reflecting the various states of the human world.
