【DSD Open Day】Drainage Services by Technologies —— Through themed exhibitions and guided tours, you will have an in-depth understanding of the daily work of the Drainage Services Department

This year, the 2024 Drainage Services Department Open Day has the theme of "Water Control with Technology". Through a diversified and rich interactive experience, the public can have an in-depth understanding of the professional work of the Drainage Services Department and how to use technology to improve Hong Kong's flood control and sewage treatment efficiency.

Theme exhibition area

The five themed exhibition areas are equipped with informative display panels and physical models, allowing the public to have a deeper understanding of how the Department uses technology to control water and strengthen flood prevention and sewage treatment services.

Public guided tour

There will be a public guided tour on the day of the event. Professional colleagues from the Drainage Services Department will lead everyone to visit the facilities of the sewage treatment plant, so that everyone can have a more comprehensive understanding of the daily operations of the sewage treatment plant. Citizens who are interested in participating can register on-site on the day of the event.

*The number of guided tours is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Self-guided discovery tour

In addition to setting up public guided tours, the Department has also added "exploration points" at different facilities. Each "exploration point" has an exhibition board and colleagues from the Drainage Services Department provide explanations, allowing the public to understand the operation of sewage treatment plants through different channels.

Themed photo area

There are multiple "check-in booths" for citizens to take pictures, including a standing statue of the Drainage Services Department mascot in the shape of water and a large-scale drain cover art installation. Members of the public can take photos at the "check-in booth" and upload the photos to social platforms to share with friends.

Stage performance

Community groups from different sectors came to the venue to perform a number of exciting cultural performances to entertain the public.

Interactive workshops and booth games

On the day of the event, there will be two workshops for citizens to sign up for on-site, including "Water Purification Experience" and "Bookmark Design". In addition, there are multiple game booths and opportunities to win exquisite launching souvenirs.
